On Saturday, I finished the Old Testament with the book of Malachi. I also read Proverbs 22 in the morning and the book of Galatians in the early evening while on the campus of Southern Connecticut State University. I particularly focused on this verse in Galatians during my reading:
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.” -Galatians 2:20 (ESV)
Matthew Henry, in his concise commentary, adds this:
The more simply the believer relies on Christ for every thing, the more devotedly does he walk before Him in all his ordinances and commandments.
That is something I need to remember (with the Holy Spirit’s help) as I live each day. Thank you God for holding me on this verse as a reminder.
I also continued reading James Montgomery Boice’s excellent book “Christ’s Call To Discipleship”. Will post more on that when I’m done.
